Geophysical methods gather and provide accurate data about the structure of the subsurface by ways of imaging typically performed with electrical or wave-based techniques – valuable information in the field of engineering.

Whereas conventional methods are typically one-dimensional in nature, geophysical methods are two-to three-dimensional, which allows a greater portion of the overall study area to be fully analyzed. In addition, the noninvasive nature of geophysics also allows things to get imaged that otherwise wouldn’t be accessible. The method is most effective when combined with data from conventional testing.

In our exploration endeavors we rely on geophysical surveys combined with our comprehensive geological and geotechnical evaluations utilizing Bryant Consultants’ specialized software such as AGI EarthImager, GSSI RADAN, and in some cases employing customized scripts and programs that we write in-house. This provides more reliable, and precise results that are always visual representations of the subsurface, with the visuals representing different sorts of properties, for example conductivity, resistivity, reflectance, and velocity.
